New: IRI CellShield Enterprise Edition Discover, Mask and Audit PII in Excel!
IRI CellShield Enterprise Edition (EE) finds personally identifying information (PII) in every spreadsheet on a computer or network, reports the precise range locations of the PII, enables manual or bulk masking, and logs details for compliance
audits.
CellShield EE uses the dark data discovery (formerly the data restructuring) wizard in the IRI Workbench -- and the CellShield add-in released in Q4'14 -- to pattern-search, report on, mask (encrypt, redact or pseudonymize) or restore, and create a secure column entry in the report for every action taken.
CellShield EE uses the same functions as IRI FieldShield, so you can restore Excel spreadsheet data masked in other sources, and vice versa. Early CellShield adopters will receive discounts. Email cellshield@iri.com to evaluate EE.
IRI FieldShield (Data Masking) Updates DDM SDK, Masks for Cassandra, NID Redaction
New developments in, and uses for, IRI FieldShield continue apace. IRI is completing software development kits (SDKs) for Java and .NET programmers interested in embedding encryption and redaction functions within their applications or SQL procedures for dynamic data masking (DDM).
New blog articles describe how to use FieldShield to mask PII in Cassandra DataStax, and support for NIDs like those in Singapore. New default masks in the FieldShield GUI are also available for UK NINO and NHS
formats.
IRI RowGen (Test Data) Updates New How-to's for Popular Non-DB Targets
Check out these new blog articles on the creation of synthetic, but realistic, data in these formats and platforms:
Tech Tip: Cloud Control Your Metadata Manage .*CL & DDF Versions via EGit, etc. Did you know that your CoSort SortCL, FACT, NextForm, FieldShield, and RowGen control language jobs -- plus the data definition files (DDF) each uses -- can be team-shared and managed in the IRI Workbench, and version-controlled with Eclipse-based source code control systems? Find out how from this
example.

Free Eclipse Data Profiling Tools DB, File & Dark Data Discovery
To help introduce the upcoming IRI Voracity platform (mentioned last quarter) for big data management, IRI will include several new data discovery modules in the free IRI Workbench GUI, starting with the latest edition of NextForm Lite:
1) New profiling wizard for all RDBs, with:
- statistical reports on column values
- multiple pattern matching searches
- multiple fuzzy matching searches
- referential integrity checks
2) New all-RDB ER diagramming tool
3) Enhanced dark data discovery, extraction, and structuring of values in unstructured documents, featuring new 'and' & 'or' search options and reusable pattern libraries
4) Updated file & DB metadata discovery
All of these profiling tools will be in an IRI Workbench toolbar menu to facilitate the planning and specification of IRI data integration, migration, governance, and analytic jobs in the same place.
Onboarding: Big & Cloud Data New IRI NextForm "Modern" Edition
IRI just changed the NextForm line, by:
1) replacing the 'Unstructured Data' edition with the free 'Lite' Edition (see above) for discovery, extraction, and structuring of dark data documents.
2)
adding a 'Modern' edition to support the sourcing, migration, and targeting of big data (e.g., Hive, NoSQL) and cloud/Saas (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce) repositories.
This new edition is the counterpart to the existing NextForm 'Legacy' edition for migrating data from mainframe and other proprietary data sources.
