"I started CD Fit on August 27, 2013 and I weighed about 210 pounds. I had just gotten married the year before and I became very comfortable. I was an eating machine. I would try to lose weight but I would get discouraged and give up. I was always tired, I had back issues, and I felt horrible about the way I looked.
I knew I had to do something after my doctor told me my weight was becoming a health issue. I was extremely motivated at that time and was willing to try anything no matter how horrible it sounded. Boot Camp at 6am sounded miserable but I was willing to do anything. On my first day at the Downtown Silver Spring class with Darren I hit the ground running. I quickly learned what burpees, mountain climbers, and bearcats were. I gave 100% and by the end of class I felt like I was going to throw up. It was horrible but I thought to myself that if I can survive what I just went through then I could get through anything. My second day was still tough but it was better than day one and afterwards I felt great all day. By my second week I was becoming accustomed to the schedule and I was hooked. I started looking forward to Darren’s class each morning. Thinking about how I could push
myself just a little bit further and dig a little bit deeper. I was setting goals and reaching them and then setting new goals.
CD Fit was starting to change my life. Not only was I getting stronger, faster, and loosing inches, but I was a happier person. Outside of boot camp I was making life changes. I was drinking less, eating healthier and making better decisions. I went from the guy who went to bed at 1am and was usually 5 minutes late getting in to the office, to the guy who goes to sleep at 9:30, wakes up at 5:00am and is 15 minutes early to work every day. I started becoming more productive and I felt like I could handle anything. My mentality is that a morning of CD Fit is going to be the most difficult part of my day and if I can handle that then I can handle anything. Being pushed to my limit hours before most people are out of bed kind of makes me feel like a bad ass.
Darren has been awesome! He has been able to push our class and keep us motivated as well as changing it up so it is never redundant. I think this is one of the main reasons I have been able to stick with it as long as I have. That and our class is full of such great positive people and we all cheer each other on. It is such an amazing atmosphere.
Thanks to Darren and CD Fit I am down to 181 pounds. I feel great and have set plenty of new goals to reach.
