"After learning that my thyroid is six times the size it should be, and would have to be removed, I decided to start focusing on my health again.
Working out has never been a problem for me but I've always struggled with my weight (partly due to bad eating habits), and I didn't want my thyroid issues to be another excuse.
At first I wasn't following a true diet or plan...I just started making healthier choices. But after the challenge, I adopted the Paleo diet. Although, I still occasionally indulge in sweets and a stiff drink! And when I miss class, I always try to start or finish my day with Bring Sally up squats, push ups and planks.
I truly enjoy CD Fit because every class pushes me to be better than I was yesterday, and I have yielded great results because of that! I've lost 10-12 lbs (it fluctuates). My dress size was a 8/10 and now I'm a size 6!
I'm so happy I found your boot camp, and thank you for having awesome trainers and truly being dedicated to fitness!
I'm still undecided on my surgery (I feel I'm too young for that option) but I plan to follow up with my doctor soon to see if consistent diet and exercise has worked in my (thyroids) favor. I suggest for those struggling with constant fatigue, sleepiness after eating and weight gain to have their thyroid and thyroid levels checked. Also be sure to look up foods that negatively affect your thyroid -- you'd be surprise by how many "healthy" foods are really not the best option. Your thyroid health and functionality is very important!"
