St. Patrick's Day 5k-10k Run

Happy New Year Boot Campers!

Hope that all you enjoyed your holiday break and that you are well rested, because it is now time to get back to work on our bodies.  I know I am ready, because I ate everything I could find over these past 2 weeks. :-)

I am sending this out to you all to join us for the 28th Annual St. Patrick's Day 5K-10K Run that is coming up on Sunday, March 6, 2016.  This is a great way to start off your training for a really good run at the beginning of the running season, and it is an excellent way to test your fitness.  Setting goals to improve your run time in short races like these will give your fitness training a sense of purpose, and help to motivate you for the longterm.  This is how athletes think, and it is one of the reasons why we stay so fit from one year to the next year.....and every year of our life.  Serious athletes focus on improving our fitness more so than just loosing some weight.  We focus on getting better and better in the various areas of our fitness, so we train, eat, sleep, recover, rest, and educate ourselves to get better.  We test ourselves to see where we are starting and then we set goals to get better and better...faster and faster...stronger and stronger.  This is your chance to put yourself on the right track and to keep yourself there.

We have a team established for us to run together under the "CD Fit" name, and you can run either the 5K, 10k, or the 5K-10K Double.  They even have a .5 mile race for the babies!  Something for everyone.  For newbies to runs like this the 5K is only 3.1 miles and the 10K is 6.2 miles.  You can walk/run the 5K or just walk it all if you like or need to due to lower extremity concerns, so anyone can do this.  So, come on out to join us, by registering today.   Many of you missed the Inflatable 5K Race we all ran together last year, so don't miss out on the fun for this race (Click Here for Video).  It is a great way meet your fellow CD Fit members, and a heck of a lot of fun!

Special thank you to Andrea Howard, CD Fit Instructor for the 630pm DC class, for setting up the CD Fit team for this race.  She has been on me for the past 2 years on the value of running races like this together as a team, and I have to agree with her.  We appreciate your persistence Howard!  Andrea is the team captain for the race, and she can answer any questions that you may have about the race.  You can contact her directly via email, am.howard9@gmail.com, and she will take good care of you.

We look forward to seeing all of you back in class next week, and we hope to see many of you at the St. Pat's Run.
