Huge archaeological discovery in Nubia
Please find below images of a huge archaeological discovery in Nubia recently, most probably in Sadenga area where a huge statue and tens of shawaptis, statues and collections were surfaced. We call upon Sudan National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM), UNESCO, International Society for Nubian Studies (ISNS) and all institutions to follow up this matter and preserve these important discoveries.
The Nubian antiquities are now under attack from smugglers who are working actively to excavate for gold and antiquities. Please follow up more news on our monthly newsletter Nubia Bulletin.
We ask the distinguished archaeologists who worked or still working in the area as Professor Williams Adams, Professor Charles Bonnet, Professor Derek Welsby, Professor Bruce Williams, Professor Lobbans, Professor Tim Kindall and all universities and expeditions working in the area to disclose more details about these discoveries and the recently made agreement between Sudan and Qatar (QSAP) and the Qatari investment of US $135 millions to develop the Nubian archaeological sites. It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian
authorities criticized bitterly the Qatari Sudanese deal and accused Qatar of attempt to destroy the Egyptian archaeological tourism by diverting international tourism towards Nubia and Sudan.
Please find below some shots taken from a video circulated in the media with a handwritten date: Tuesday October 2013 inside the discovered grave which contains tens of great collections.
