What is one of the most common question I get asked? What is the weather going to be like?
While I am a mother, I am not Mother Nature. But the best site I have ever found lists the averages over the last 30 years and includes rainfall averages which I think sometimes are even more important than the temps.

| Nothing like setting the bar high! |
Welcome to my first (and hopefully not last) monthly-ish travel newsletter.
Some of you have been clients of mine from the very "beginning" (over 20 years ago) when I used to actually write, print and MAIL a monthly newsletter out! That was difficult and time consuming and apparently I shy away from making my life easy because since the invention of the internet (thanks Al Gore) I have not been that dedicated!
What I hope to send out to you in a monthly newsletter form is various information that I come across that might help you with your own travel plans. No selling just telling. (that is pretty catchy!)
Suggestions are always welcome, creative critism and
newsletter content especially. If you would like to send in your travel reviews from recent trips as well that would be great!

Travel Insurance and
Pre-existing medical conditions

To purchase travel insurance or Not to purchase travel insurance this is the question.
We are all getting older and if aren't then others in our lives are and thus one of the many reasons we purchase travel insurance. Another reason is our own health or the fact as to whether our medical insurance will cover us if we leave the good old USA.
Insurance can be bought at any time prior to travel BUT if you have a pre-existing health issue you need to purchase it within 14 days (with the company that I sell) of the first time you put any money at all on your upcoming trip, if you want it to cover you for cancellation.
What is a pre-existing condition? If you have
a specific question you can call me and I can find out the answer for you however a basic answer is:
What Is a Pre-Existing Condition?
One typical insurance company describes a pre-existing condition as an illness or injury that you, a traveling companion, or family member were seeking or receiving treatment for or had symptoms of on the day you purchased your plan, or at any time in the 120 days before you purchased it. Specifically, the insurance would not pay off if you, a traveling companion or family member:
- Saw or were advised to see a doctor.
- Had symptoms that would cause a prudent person to see a doctor.
- Were taking prescribed medication for the condition or the symptoms, unless the condition or symptoms are effectively controlled by the prescription, and the prescription hasn't changed.
Those qualifications are pretty standard. The main variation is in the length of pre-purchase time: Some companies specify only 60 days rather than 120, but I've also seen others as long as 180 days.
