CANDIDATE NICK DI IORIO SAYS CONG. CAROLYN MALONEY PART OF THE IRS SCANDAL EMAIL COVERUP

"Rep. Carolyn Maloney is Not Doing Her Job and Hopes We Won't Notice"

NEW YORK, NY-- Long time incumbent Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY-12) is covering up illegal government actions by staying silent on explosive new information pointing to corruption by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), says Nick Di iorio, who is running against Maloney for Congress.  Emails the IRS claimed went missing in a computer glitch are, in fact, not "missing" but are being hidden by Obama's Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Eric Holder.

Maloney, who is a member of the congressional committee in charge of investigating the IRS scandal that involves the so-called "missing emails" on illegal targeting by the IRS of groups the Obama Administration considers political adversaries, is ignoring the new revelations, confident the media will partner with her and cover up the scandal.  Maloney also voted against calling on Eric Holder to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate the scandal. (H Res 565).  A special counsel would ensure a nonpartisan evaluation of the corruption allegations.

Nick Di iorio said, "Carolyn Maloney is complicit in the coverup of Washington corruption.  She is part of the problem."

The IRS and officials in the Obama Adminstration have stated under oath to Congress that key emails by former IRS senior official Lois Lerner relating to the scandal of the IRS targeting groups based on their allegiance or opposition to President Obama were lost in a computer glitch.  Yesterday, they admitted this was untrue.  The emails are in their possession, but they refused to release them to the proper congressional investigating committees.

"While the unserious, out-of-touch Carolyn Maloney ignores her job responsibilities of focusing on Israel, jobs and government corruption, we are left without representation in Congress," said Di iorio.  "Her priorities are adopting pandas from China, holding fundraisers in the Hamptons and ignoring and covering up the corruption in Washington, DC.  It's time for serious, sober representation in Congress for New York."

Nick Di iorio issued a challenge: "Congressman Maloney needs to do her job, pay attention, and pressure the Obama Administration to release all emails relating to the IRS scandal so that the committee of which she is a member, the Government Reform and Oversight Committee can investigate."

Nick Di iorio, a Republican, is the sole challenger running in New York's 12th Congressional District against longtime incumbent Carolyn Maloney.  Di iorio has also received support from members of the Independence Party, Libertarian Party, and Conservative Party.  The district includes the east side of Manhattan, western Queens, and Greenpoint in Brooklyn.
