NEW YORK, NY -- Former New York Governor George Pataki (R) has offered his enthusiastic endorsement and full support for Nick Di iorio, who is running for Congress against long-time incumbent Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-12).  

"Nick Di iorio's candidacy presents New Yorkers with an opportunity to address the problems facing our city and our country, and attack the corruption in Washington that is eroding our freedom, security and opportunities," said Pataki.

"We deserve to have someone representing us in Congress who is smart, on the job, and is fully engaged on the issues.  It's time to get serious about attacking the corruption, about job creation, and about education. I've met with Nick and I like what I see and hear.  He has my full support, and I urge others to support him, as well. We need Nick Di iorio in Congress."

Nick Di iorio, a Republican, is the sole challenger running in New York's 12th Congressional District against longtime incumbent Carolyn Maloney.  Di iorio has also received support from members of the Independence Party, Libertarian Party, and Conservative Party.  The district includes the east side of Manhattan, western Queens, and Greenpoint in Brooklyn.
