Insider Escapes

Whew, two huge outdoor shows in a row is fun but a lot of work. I want to welcome all our new readers, especially the people we met at the shows in Lafayette and Jackson, to our newsletter. This was our first time at the Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza show but it won’t be the last. We’ll be at the Cabala’s Fall Great Outdoor’s Show in Gonzales, LA August 17th & 18th. Come by and say hello!

I’ve always felt there are really only two seasons, hunting season and getting ready for hunting season. That being said, this is the time of year to getting the food plots ready. Now is the time to be preparing the ground for planting. As an added feature in this month and next month’s newsletter, we have a series of four video’s made by one of our outfitter’s who has a business making food plots for a lot of the lodges and hunters in his area. He has allowed us to use them in the newsletter and will have the links for them on our website. We have the first two videos this month and will have the last two in next month’s issue. Thanks Ryan.

Not only is it food plot time but you should be making your plans for any upcoming hunting or fishing trip for this season. While there are still openings for all types of hunting at our locations, they are filling up quickly. Our January 10th Duck and Deer hunt in Arkansas is already half filled, so if you are thinking about going with us this year, don’t wait too long. We are also featuring this location as our Lodge of the Month.

We have recently added several new locations in the Midwest and one of our outfitters in Illinois has had a couple of cancellations during the archery rut season. We want to fill these quickly so there are good discounts to be had. The picture of the Whitetail deer in velvet in this month’s issue is from his place. Give us a call and we’ll give you all the details.

Lodge of the Month

Duck hunting in the Arkansas Golden Triangle

Situated in the heart of Arkansas duck country, this lodge is about the hunt and the hunter. Located on 8500 acres and with various blinds, ranging from pit blinds in rice and millet fields to secluded flooded timber holes, they know you’re here for the ducks and that’s what they work hard to provide.

In addition to acres and acres of fields, wetlands and timber that offer any type of duck hunting looking for; you’ll also find an equal amount of southern hospitality. With two comfortable lodges, great food and guides that know where the ducks are, a hunt at this lodge is the perfect blend of great hunting and good times. Whether you need to accommodate a large corporate hunt or just a weekend with the guys, they deliver.

They also offer deer hunting, either as individual hunts or as a combination hunt.

We are offering 3-day combination duck and deer hunts for $1500 per hunter (usually $1950). Also, upland bird hunting is available for an additional fee.

Trail Escapes has been offered exclusive use of the lodge for two combination Duck and Deer hunts this year. These dates are the weekend of December 6th to 8th (rifle for deer)---SOLD OUT!--- and the  weekend of January, 10-12th (bow hunting only for deer). Individual dates are, of course, available all during the season.

Unless otherwise stated, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required within two weeks of booking, with the balance due three weeks before the departure date.
