Please note that the Sportsman's Expo in Bossier City/ Shreveport on May 11-13, has been moved to August 17-19, 2012.

Duck Season, REALLY!!!

Hunting season is never really over to most us. We set the date for our 2012 Don Dubuc Cajun Invasion Duck Hunt in Arkansas about a month ago.  By popular demand, we’re going back to the same location where we had so much fun. The trip sold out this past week! However, for any of you who missed out, don’t worry. The lodge has given us a 2nd weekend, Nov. 17th-19th, at the same great discount price as the 1st. (Heads-up, it’s already a third full. I’m just saying!) Both trips will be a combo hunt for duck, goose and deer. While we won’t be doing Don’s radio show from the lodge the 2nd weekend, we are working on a surprise for our hunters (more on that in the coming months). To our clients, we say thank you for your tremendous response. We appreciate your trust in us to provide the best trips possible.

Number 17

One of the great perks about my job is the people I meet. I received a call several weeks ago from a young man named Ben. He was referred to us by someone who saw our booth at the Louisiana Sportsman’s Show in Gonzales.

Ben is a man on a mission. He wants to harvest a turkey in every state in America, and having already having sixteen states down; Louisiana was next on his list. As fate would have it, we found another hunter, Randy, who had already accomplished that feat. He bent over backwards to help Ben complete this part of his quest. I was lucky enough to be in the blind with Ben to video his hunt.  As the sun was starting to rise we heard several birds gobble and in less than an hour Ben took a very nice turkey. We will have the hunt on a future episode of Redneck Adventures with Jim Bob Allgood.

We hope to help Ben with other hunts in the future as he continues his quest. Thanks Ben for letting us is a part of your hunt. A special thanks to Randy for putting us on the birds, especially since he had experienced the loss of a family member the day before. Some of the best people in the world are Louisiana sportsmen.

Fishing Capital of the World

This lodge is in the middle of one of the premier fishing areas on the Louisiana coast. The Hopedale area is known as “the Fishing Capitol of the World”. The unique combination of saltwater marshes and fresh water estuaries creates a natural breeding and nursery ground for many species of fin-fish and crustaceans; which attract thousands of saltwater and fresh water fish. This combination makes Louisiana a true fishing paradise and attracts clients from all over the world.

Rich in hard fighting redfish and speckled trout: the action can be fast and furious. During the prime fishing seasons, it’s possible to limit out in just a few hours.

Along with the excellent fishing, the area is also known for excellent duck hunting. The lodge can provide both guided hunting and fishing trips. Each one of our Guides are full time experienced guides that have years of knowledge, and are ready to guide you and your friends on a fishing trip of a lifetime.

They have approximately 600 acres of prime duck hunting habitat in Delacroix, Louisiana. All hunts will take place in fully equipped Gator Trax mud boats powered by Mud buddy hyper-drive mud motors.

The rates for day-trip fishing start at $500 per boat for two fishermen and $175 a gun for a duck hunting

Trail Tails

Hi all you pups & pooches out there! This is Mousse, the chocolate lab, with another edition of Trail Tails.

Ya know, usually I would write something witty and humorous about an upcoming holiday, with Easter eggs hunts, and whatever I got in my Easter basket, but not this time. You humans can debate about whether or not dogs have some kind of soul or not, but I will tell you this, even a dog knows what the true meaning of this occasion is all about. I hope you had a Happy Easter.
