Our Featured Lodge of the Month
|
For an affordable hunt with a great lodge and outstanding hunting, this is the trip for you. The lodge has over 3200 acres, 90 + stands, a Quality Deer Management Program, deer cleaning facilities, a shooting range, full lodging, home-cooked meals, and much more. The landscape consists of many creek bottoms, beaver-pond swamps, and ridges full of white oak trees. The feeling is more of being at the camp with your buddies than it is a commercial lodge.
This is the hunting lodge you would have built for yourself. Drink your morning cup of coffee in front of the fireplace, before you go to the stand. Relax on one of the porches after lunch. And when the day is done, sit around the fire pit, as everyone recalls the experiences of the day. For the money, this is one of the best lodges in Alabama. It’s like spending a few days in deer heaven, but with someone else doing the work.
Located in Barbour County Alabama, in the famous “Black Belt” region, the deer herd is plentiful, and quality whitetail bucks are there waiting for you. Call or e-mail Trail Escapes for details.

Hi to all my fellow canines out there. Welcome to another edition of Trail Tails.
Finally, we’re almost to my time of year, duck season. YIPPIE!
I think I’ve just about got Dad ready for the season. He’s got all his gear cleaned up, packed and ready to go. Now, if I can just sneak a couple of Bark-o-Snacks in the bag, we’ll be all set. Guys, when your human is packing up, make sure they include your stuff too. Besides the obvious stuff (treats and snacks), make sure they have water for you, a little first-aid kit for the occasional cut paw, and a good hunting vest for you. After all, we’re the ones doing all the work, while they sit there telling lies, uhhh, stories about their last fishing trip ( which, by the way, I didn’t get to go on. Thank you very much Dad).
Dad was telling me the other day ( OK, I was under his desk listening between naps) that, along with our regular hunts in Louisiana, we have several trips to Arkansas coming up. I can’t wait to go get some of those big ol’ mallards in the flooded timber. He said we would even get to go GOOSE hunting. I think I'm about to wag my tail off.
Well, time to go walk Dad again, so I’ll bark at you again next month.
