Oh well, there’s always next year

Ok, as a die-hard LSU fan, last Monday night was very painful to watch. I’ve done my ranting and raving, Monday morning quarterbacking and what-if’s and why-not’s. Last time I checked, the score was still the same. So, let’s move on. We are still in the middle of hunting season, in one of the best places in the world to be a hunter or fisherman. The deer and duck seasons still have a few weeks left and maybe, just maybe we can get some cold weather at last.

We will be having our next Don Dubuc Cajun Invasion in Arkansas next week. The ducks are doing pretty well up there and so are the geese. We have the album for the December Cajun Invasion up on our website, www.trailescapes.com. All our invaders are welcome to check it out and remember how much fun we had and those who didn’t go can see what they missed.

As we move into February, Trail Escapes will be starting up our research trips for new lodges in more states and for different types of hunts. This year we will be adding Elk and Mule Deer hunts in some of the western states, several new locations in Texas, as well as some new locations in Canada and South America. Also, we will be kicking off the outdoor shows in Gonzales, Lafayette, Shreveport, Houston and Slidell, just to name a few.

As we begin 2012, I want to personally thank all of our clients and friends that we have had the pleasure to meet for the last two years. We thank you for entrusting us to provide quality hunting and fishing experiences for you. Each year we strive to get better, to expand into more areas and to always improve our service to you. So I wish everyone a great 2012, good hunting and fishing.

Thank you.

Dennis

Trail Tails

Hi pups and pooches, it’s Mousse the chocolate lab again. Ok guys, is it just me or did your masters ( HA! I crack myself up every time I say that!) lose their minds the other night about some football game. I mean, I love to play with a ball as much as the next dog, but good grief, you would think someone took their last Milk Bone.

Now, let’s get to the important stuff; DUCKS! It’s been a great season so far but a little cooler weather would be nice. Dad’s going to Arkansas next week with Mr. Don Dubuc for a duck and goose hunt. Of course, I have to stay here and make sure the office staff keeps working. Tell me, is that fair? So I had a little too much excitment on New Year’s Eve and had to go to the vet. I’m feeling fine now, really. I know Dad is just looking out for me but I’m not fond of going to the vet’s office. I mean this is 2012, right? There has GOT to be a better way to take my temperature!!
Anyway, dad’s hoping there is some  really cold weather in Arkansas. The forecast is for the lower 20's next week, so keep your paws crossed!

Well, I guess if I have to stay home I might as well have some fun. Hee hee, the employee reviews are coming up next week. When Dad’s away, Mousse is gonna play! J

Bye for now,

 Mousse

Our Outfitter of the Month

The Fishing Capitol of the World!

This lodge is in the middle of one of the premier fishing areas on the Louisiana coast. The Hopedale area is known as “the Fishing Capitol of the World”. The unique combination of saltwater marshes and fresh water estuaries creates a natural breeding and nursery ground for many species of fin-fish and crustaceans, which attract thousands of saltwater and fresh water fish. This combination makes Louisiana a true fishing paradise and attracts clients from all over the world.

Rich in hard fighting redfish and speckled trout: the action can be fast and furious. During the prime fishing seasons, it’s possible to limit out in just a few hours.

Along with the excellent fishing, the area is also known for excellent duck hunting. The lodge can provide both guided hunting and fishing trips. Each one of our Guides are full time experienced guides that have years of knowledge, and are ready to guide you and your friends on a fishing trip of a lifetime.

The lodge has approximately 600 acres of prime duck hunting habitat in Delacroix, Louisiana. All hunts will take place in fully equipped Gator Trax mud boats powered by Mud Buddy hyper-drive mud motors.

The rates for day-trip fishing start at $500 per boat for two fishermen and $175 per gun per day for a duck hunt.

Call us at 225-664-4167 or email at sales@trailescapes.com for more information or to book at trip.
