Trail Tails
|
Hi to all my canine friends out there. This is Mousse, the chocolate lab, with this month’s edition of Trail Tails.
Well, this is my least favorite time of year. We’re pretty much done with duck season, but it was a lot of fun this year. Dad made several trips out of state for ducks (hey Dad, I like to travel too, ya know), as well as some deer hunts. He was way too busy for the last couple of months. He’s got a lot of ear scratches and belly rubs to make up to me!
Of course, he’s still busy cleaning guns and putting away equipment for the off season, not to mention getting ready to start doing the outdoor shows. He even said he might take me with him to a couple of the shows. I’d love to meet some of ya’ll, so we’ll see. (Those who bring doggie treats will be given a discount on trips. Hmmm, maybe I’d better check with Dad on that.)
Dad also told me they may have a trip to Ur-a-grrrway, U-rrrr-aguy, Ok, somewhere in South America, this summer. How the heck are you gonna hunt ducks in the summer? Hmmm, I wonder if they’ll have any cute Latin dogs down there. I may need to see what I’ve got to do to get a passport.
Well, that’s all till next time. Keep your paws dry and your noses wet!

Alaskan Fishing with a touch of Style
|
Our featured lodge of the month is in the great state of Alaska.
How would you like to fish for Silver Salmon today? Maybe you would like to try for that big Halibut or possibly a fly-out to a remote stream for some fly fishing for trout. Oh, did I mention this is on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska? So let’s see, great fishing, great scenery, what else could you want? How about a lodge second to none, with outstanding food, comfortable rooms (you’ve got your own fireplace in your bedroom), and a staff dedicated to making this a trip you’ll never forget. What, you still want more? Ok, how about wildlife watching, moose, bear, whale watching, and glacier tours. After a hard day of what is arguably the best fishing in the world, relax at happy hour before dinner. After dinner, if you’re not ready to stop, go cast a
fly on the Kenai River for a big salmon.
All this and more is waiting for you.
