Yep, it’s hot!

Don’t you love summers in Louisiana? However, this year we’re not alone in the heat wave. Many areas of the country are experiencing a record heat wave. Trail Escapes had a group from Virginia come down for a fishing trip for specks and redfish. It was actually hotter in their home towns than it was here. I have to admit they hung in and endured the temperatures for a couple of full fishing days. Vance, we enjoyed you and your group and hope to see you again next year.

I know it’s hard to think about hunting when it’s this hot but we have the dates for our Cajun Invasion trips set. The combo duck, deer and goose hunt in Arkansas is November 30th thru December 2^nd. This is almost sold out, so if you want to go on this one, call us soon. We have set the date for our Cajun Invasion Alabama Deer Hunt as January 3^rd thru the 6^th. This should be in the beginning of the rut so hopefully the big racks will be out and about. This is a 3-day hunt for $1800 per hunter.

We will also be going on a hunt in Arkansas on November 23^rd-25^th, with Jim Bob Allgood of the Redneck Adventures TV show. He will be filming an episode of the show with our group, so if you ever wanted to be on TV, this is your chance.

We have an opportunity for a couple of trophy class (300+) Elk hunts in New Mexico. These are private land hunts from October through December. Call for more details.  

We will be going to a couple of outdoor shows in the next few weeks. We will be in Beaumont, Texas, July 20th-22^nd, at The Peddlers Show, in Lafayette at the Louisiana Outdoor Expo on July 27^th-29^th, and at the Shreveport Outdoor Show on August 17^th-19^th. If you’re in the area during the show dates, be sure to come by our booth and say hello.

Alaskan Bear, Moose and Sheep Hunts

For a true wilderness hunt, it just doesn’t get any more real than Alaska. If you’re looking to ride a 4-wheeler or four wheel drive truck up to a stand, this isn’t the hunt for you. However, if you’re up to the challenge of back country hunting, sleeping under the stars and testing your endurance to the limit, then we’ve got the trip for you!

Our outfitter has almost 20 years of experience and can provide you the hunt of a lifetime, whether it’s fishing, trophy grizzly bear, or sheep. Located in the Tok and northwest regions of Alaska, these legendary areas are rich with game and fish. If you put these factors together, it spells success.

Depending of the type of game you’re after, there may be draw permits necessary, so let us help you through the process. We have fishing trips starting at about $3500, sheep hunts at $13,500 and bear at $14,500.

The availability of hunts is limited and you usually will need to book one or two years in advance. Currently we are booking the 2014 season but have a few 2013 hunts available, with all 2012 hunts sold out. (We do sometimes get last minute cancellations.) Call us for details and availability.
