Tomorrow the House Subcommittee on Civil Justice will vote on your right to carry firearms in local parks just after 3pm CT.
Currently, all state and federal parks are open to handgun permit holders. However, when that law passed several years ago, the state allowed local governments to close some local parks in their discretion. Unfortunately, local government officials often closed all local parks, greenways and similar places. This is a huge problem because it puts lives at risk. This year we are trying to remove the local option and require that all public parks in Tennessee shall be open to handgun permit holders. Local governments are using your tax dollars to fight this effort.
Call the following Representatives and tell them to vote YES on HB1407, which would make the 2nd Amendment apply to all local and city parks in Tennessee:
