YOUR MIND IS A GARDEN.....

Do you ever notice that when you anticipate bad things to happen, they typically do? Or if you drop something once, you continue to drop items throughout the day if you do not stop thinking you are clumsy? The words we use come from our thoughts and beliefs; driving what occurs and does not occur in our life. Getting real with our words and shifting negative limiting beliefs of ourselves and our situations allows us create new and different results and to live the life that we are destined to. I find that our beliefs and thoughts get in the way of us attaining our health and wellness goals. The first step in changing your thoughts and beliefs is to be willing to make that shift and be open to change. 

Small Steps to Start to  Shift Your Thoughts
Start becoming more aware of your thoughts and words that you are using; stop in mid thought/talk and rephrase in a more positive manner. 
Identify 2 simple mantras or affirmations that you can incorporate into your daily life. 
Take 5 minutes to get quiet and meditate (or listen to a guided meditation)
Check out a video or audio on how to reframe your thoughts and beliefs such as: You Can Heal Your Life, The Secret, Train Your Brain by Dana Wilde. There are many YouTube Videos that also provide tips and education.

  

Maya Angelou passed away this past week but will live on forever (just like all of us). Through her life journey, she wrote numerous well renowned books and poems, spoke to thousands of people, and taught us about the power of our words.  Checkout her short video...

JUNE RECIPE:

June Recipe

Grilled Maple Dijon Salmon

1 1/2 lbs Salmon (Wild Caught)
2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (nitrate free recommended)

3 tablespoons Dijon

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ tablespoons Grade B Maple Syrup or Raw Honey
 
 Sea Salt and Black
Pepper to taste

Directions: 

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. In a bowl combine maple syrup/honey, Dijon mustard and garlic. Season salmon to taste with salt and pepper. Spread the Dijon mixture on top of the salmon. Place salmon on grill, skin side down and cook for approximately 6 minutes on each side. Remove salmon from the grill, sprinkle some crumbled bacon on top and serve.
