IRI Voracity Has an Appetite for Data New All-In-One Platform... Beta Testers Welcome
To reduce the costs of high-performance ETL and the risks of big data projects, IRI is unifying its data management and protection technologies with Hadoop in Eclipse.
Now in beta, IRI Voracity is the uniquely powerful and affordable data management platform that performs, speeds, and combines data discovery, integration, migration, governance, and analytics.
Why is it good for your enterprise?
- Voracity is far simpler, faster, and less expensive than legacy ETL and Hadoop alternatives. That means quicker onboarding and data delivery.
- Voracity precludes the needs for specialty software in all 5 categories, and the need for more hardware. That means lower costs from now on.
- Voracity brings IT and business users -- from DBAs to data scientists, and ETL architects to CISOs -- together in Eclipse. One familiar, extensible metadata and UI for all means much less complexity and consulting.
With all the task-consolidating and algorithmic power of CoSort -- and soon Hadoop MR2, Spark, Storm and Tez -- Voracity transforms and cleans big data volumes faster than any other software. It also addresses many of the growing variety, velocity, and veracity problems enterprises face with data in structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources.
New data profiling and MDM tools in the IRI Workbench are included. State-of-the-art visual workflow and mapping diagrams make it easy to see both the big picture, and the details, in complex data transformation and ETL jobs. IRI is also working with AnalytixDS mapping manager for spreadsheet-style ETL definitions, and automated conversions from legacy ETL tools.
Partner drivers reach legacy sources like IDMS and modern ones like MongoDB. Voracity also prepares data for analytic tools and integrates seamlessly with BIRT.
IRI is now gathering an interest list for beta testing and release. These VIPs will get the first access and the lowest pricing. Sign up at voracity@iri.com and visit www.iri.com/products/voracity for more information.
Tech Tip: Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) How to Produce Reports in the Different Types
Data warehouses contain relatively static data. However, dimensional data can change regularly or unpredictably, causing problems with referential integrity. IRI demonstrates how to capture and report on different types of slowly changing dimension (SCD) data in this series of blog articles.

CIO Review Calls IRI a Promising Big Data Provider
CIO Review has included IRI in its list of the 100 Most Promising Big Data Solution Providers for 2015.
So-called 'big data' is a top-of-mind challenge for CIOs, particularly amid a growing array of technologies available to manage processing workloads and complex analytics.
IRI meanwhile is just continuing to address the same kinds of data volume, velocity, variety, and veracity challenges it has since it started using the term big data more than 11 years ago.
CIO Review's recognition is appreciated.

Meet Voracity's Likeness Prey the Data Ocean as an Orca
IRI recently selected a product mascot for Voracity that is consistent with the company's Florida location and the oceans of data its software processes. This "character" has to be fast, intelligent, insatiable, and a dominator of lesser
species. The killer whale is the predacious marine character that fits the bill.
As we prepare for the release of Voracity, you can see the similarities between this animal and the vision IRI has for the platform. Voracity is a jack-of-all-data-management-trades, and yet more than a master of some. Check out the blog article here and our initial product description here. Tell us if you think Voracity has the chops to be the killer platform.

IRI and its software offerings continue to grow on the strength of user and partner input. There are two user surveys: one to learn how you use the software (and what we can do to make it better), and another to learn about your future requirements. Anyone completing the survey will receive a free copy of the IRI CellShield Excel Add-In for masking PII and other sensitive data in Excel.
