Innovation Worldwide

Dear all,

We have been given a lot of thought into the new innovation trends and happenings and believe it is high time to update the Innovation Best Practice & Future Challenges Report from 2010! As we have realised that it is not really ‘best practice’ we are interested in the context of innovation but ‘Leading Practice’, the 5th such report will be titled: Innovation Leading Practice & Future Challenges!

As in the previous four rounds, the focus is on creating a snap shot of what is happening in businesses in the field of innovation, and identify what the next challenges on the innovation journey are - rather than what is happening in consulting or academia.  Having said that, if you are from consulting or academia and feel your insights NEED to be heard by the business community, do let us know! This is your opportunity to share your thoughts, experiences and insights.

As in the past, Bettina’s framework will form the foundation for the discussion - with a few additional topics to talk about - and, again as in previous rounds, we ask for 30-60 minutes of your time, and promise to stick to the time frame we are given ;-). We would be delighted to hear from you!

Do we not always say what a wonderful community you are? Yet another piece of evidence is forthcoming with a pdf document in which Rene Moretti, sustainability expert,  has summarised 3 recent Harvard Business Review articles, all of them relevant in the context of leadership, innovation, and sustainability in our fast changing world. The amazing thing is,  all indicate a shift "from the I to the we and beyond" - which is coincidentally the title of a blog Bettina and her dear friend and colleague Dorothea Ernst  are writing! The three articles summarised are:

  • Collective Genius (HBR 06/14) by Linda A.Hill, Greg Brandeau, Emily Truelove, Kent Lineback
  • The Capitalist's Dilemma (HBR 06/14) by Clayton M.Christensen
  • Innovating for shared value (HBR 09/13) by Marc Pfitzer, Valerie Bockstette, Mike Stamp
