Innovation News

Dear Fellow Innovators,

In a world that is changing at even faster pace, we know the importance of keeping updated with emerging trends, insights and knowledge. So, when updating the ILF website we thought that it would be a good idea to have a space to share articles and other things we find interesting and provocative for those interested in innovation: the Wisdom section. Our l
ast addition was an article indicating that Unilever is interested in following Natura (a Brazilian cosmetics company) to become the second publicly trade company to attain a B Corp sustainability certification.  Is it a signal of a new paradigm in which corporations act as responsible global citizens? Check it out here.

Another piece of Wisdom that we have shared concerns  the Global Opportunity Report. 200 sustainability experts and 6,160 business leaders in 21 countries were asked about their views on building a safe and sustainable future. Based on the results five major global risk have been identified, which formed the foundation  for several innovation workshops during which 15 opportunities in sustainable living have been fleshed out.  We like it, from ‘threat’ to opportunity! You have probably noticed that we feel rather strongly  about all the  work being done in the sustainability sphere. So, when this dropped into our inbox, even before we had a closer look at it, we wanted to share it as widely as possible!  This kind of lateral thinking is what innovation can be about!  Have a look at the prezi presentation and the website.

Last but not least, ILF Ambassador, Emily Miller has made us aware of the vacancy for an  Innovation Director for a large global FMCG in Germany - anyone interested (of course we do not know whether it is still available…)? Get in touch with Lis to find out more :-)

ILF Networking Group meeting:
Innovation and the Digital Landscape
Date:
19 March, 2015
Location:
London

We are delighted to announce the first event of the ILF Networking Group on 'Innovation and the Digital Landscape' which will take place Thursday 19th March in London (venue to be confirmed).  A lot is happening in IT and the digital world - what does it all mean for innovation and innovating?!  As usual, while it IS an ILF Networking Group meeting, we are delighted to welcome those non-members who have something interesting to share in this space, and / or would like to experience the group in order to decide whether they should become a member (we do have corporate as well as individual membership!).

This was in fact a tip from Noel Hatch, a member of the ILF Networking Group. After seven years of running the Acumen Global Fellows Program, Acumen has created +Acumen, a platform where they provide free online courses. They are sharing tools, knowledge, and networks to scale the impact of their traditional leadership programs and change the way people tackles poverty. Lis has already signed up for several!

Ursi Van der Herten, another dear member of the ILF community is Product Manager for ESADE Business School. She has brought to our attention some very interesting courses that they are running this first semester.
