This new family of rope is being called HiLife, although the advantages of its use go far beyond life. This new rope has a more robust round cross-section, even in hollow-core. Furthermore, the morphology of the rope components allow for better absorption/impregnation and chemical attachment of wear-resistance and friction-inducing coatings. There are always rope runs, however, which have extraordinary needs in terms of rope toughness and wear resistance.

For these "outliers" or for customers looking to extend life beyond the normal, perhaps to reach the next outage cycle, Cristini has developed a product to cover that need as well. The TuffBraid rope product is a 100% double braid rope, in which each strand of the rope has been braided, then those braided strands are braided together. This dense, hard, rope structure, while taking much more effort to manufacture, delivers the ultimate in wear and hydrolysis resistance and is the true workhorse of the Cristini
product line while offering superior threading and tail gripping capabilities.

The origins of the Cristini Group date back to the middle of the 18th century, and are deeply rooted in the traditions of the Fiorano Al Serio valley. Since the Middle Ages, this area has been actively involved in the textile industry.
In 1997 the Cristini Group built a 55,000 ft² facility in Lachute, Qc. Canada in order to establish a presence in the North American market. This facility manufactures a full line of carrier rope and rope threading systems as well as spiral fabrics for paper machine dryer sections and filtration applications.
In early 2000, Cristini also launched its Diagnostic systems division which has become the industry's leading supplier of portable and online consistency gauges FiberScan™. The Diagnostic systems division has also launched online and portable press felt porosity and moisture measurements- PermFlowDuo™ making it the only instrument able to measure moisture porosity and temperature simultaneously.
