Improve Your Relationships with Sincere Listening Clues
If we sincerely listen to others or we feel that someone is sincerely listening to us, then we are able to create a harmonious relationship.

My dear friend, Raymond Kayal, shared his Sincere Listening Clues with me, when I was preparing What Color Is Your Brain? Programs for his NewsLink Group,LLC executive team and airport store managers.

10 Clues for Sincere Listening
1. Clear your mind of pre-conceived ideas
2. Discipline/force yourself to sincerely listen
3. Be objective, not emotional
4. Hear and pay attention to what you are being told
5. Recognize there is something critically important in what is being said
6. Identify where the speaker wants to go in the conversation
7. Be aware to fish out and capture all the potential golden nuggets
8. Think and process
9. Articulate your perspective
10. Be open to a different POV (Point of View)

When people communicate, they consistently, and often unconsciously, tell you what color their brain is. It is easy to refine your listening skills and/or have fun politely eavesdropping whenever possible.

The following Brain Color Clues will help you increase your Sincere Listening Skills:
Yellow Brainers use “should,”,“would,” /or “have to” when they are talking about themselves or others.
Blue Brainers
tell you how they “love” or “feel” about something or someone.
Green Brainers respond with “I’ll have to think about that.”
Orange Brainers say, “That sounds like fun. What are we waiting for? Let’s do it!"

Enjoy more harmonious relationships with sincere listening!
Consummate Agent for My Picture Book for Children with Diabetes

In  2004, I began writing Purr-fect Pals: A Kid, A Cat, and Diabetes. This picture book is designed for children (ages 2-12) who live with the challenges of T1D (Type 1 Diabetes) and T2D (Type 2 Diabetes). I wanted to share my family’s experiences and offer readers comfort and education while dealing with the challenges of diabetes.

Everyone who has participated in my programs and/or reads my books
knows I am passionately committed to helping children and their families understand
and manage the “highs and lows” of diabetes.

People also know that I allocate 10% of the royalties from the sale of all my books to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

For various reasons over the past 10 years, the book has not been published. However, I now have a consummate literary agent to help me and submit the manuscipt on my behalf!

My Yellow Brain is honored to introduce you to my long-time friend and now my literary agent, Lillian Miceli. I met and worked with Lily many years ago when I was speaking at a women's retreat and Lily was the Yellow Brain Dependable meeting planner.

You might remember my post about Lily's extraordinary InBetween The Music: Where Music Gives Voice to Words radio show that I blogged about from December 2010 until May 2013.

Lily is a very thoughtful, talented and creative Blue Brain woman. Her Green Brain knowledge about the creative arts is remarkable. Lily has a  strong Yellow Brain committed work ethic. Lily's Orange Brain abundance of joy and laughter is contagious!

Lily relocated to Alabama last year to take care of her mother (of blessed memory) and stepfather. Now, Lily has created an exciting new life for herself. I am so happy for her that I wanted to share it with all of my readers. Below is a short biography about Lily:

Lily Miceli has been in the entertainment industry for many years as a Talent Agent, Theater Producer, Model, and Radio Show Host. For 15 years she was a Talent Agent with Diamond Artists Ltd. in Los Angeles, California, where she worked primarily with actors. However, writers are now part of her new literary career and are represented under her own banner Lillian Miceli Entertainment.

As a theater producer Lily has produced plays in Dublin, Ireland, and Milwaukee and Delavan, Wisconsin. Lily also wrote and produced her own radio show, InBetween The Music, for Wisconsin public radio station WGTD, and continues to pursue modeling and voice-over opportunities.

Lily has been a member in good standing of Women In Film,  the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and the Association of Talent Agents.

Lily is always looking for extraordinary writing in any field. She recommends that writers who are interested in working with her go to her website for submission guidelines. Lily currently lives in Laceys Spring, Alabama, just outside of Huntsville.

Finding a literary agent to work with is not an easy task. My Orange Brain is thrilled to be working with Lily! My Yellow Brain feels secure with Lily. My Blue Brain knows Lily is a trustworthy woman. My Green Brain values Lily as a competent professional.

Lily is in high gear with the submission process to publishers. Lily's genuine eagerness about my book makes my Blue Heart Smile!

If you or anyone you know is looking for a consummate literary and/or talent agent be sure to contact Lily Miceli at lillianmicelientertainment@gmail.com

By now you, know that all my Brain Colors respect, admire, and highly recommend Lily!

A Poem for Peace
Last week during our Friday night Shabbat Service at synagogue Congregation Kneseth Israel (CKI) in Elgin, Illinois, our remarkable Blue and Green  Brain Rabbi Margaret Frisch Klein included the following poem written by an 11-year-old girl.

When I emailed the Rabbi and requested the poem to include in this newsletter, Rabbi sent it to me and wrote, "Right up you alley."

For Peace
I had a box of colours
Shining bright and bold.
I had a box of colours,
Some warm, some very cold.
I had no red for the blood of wounds.
I had no black for the orphans' grief.
I had no white for dead faces and hands.
I had no yellow for burning sands.
But I had orange for the joy of life,
And I had green for buds and nests.
I had blue for bright, clear skies.
I had pink for dreams and rest.
I sat down and painted Peace.

This beautiful and colorful poem was written by Tali Sorek when she was aged 11 and living in Beersheeba, Israel. Tali's words touched all the colors of my Brain and my Heart! I hope you will share Tali's words, as I have shared them with you, and my Rabbi shared them with me.

Peace - Shalom!
As a child growing up in the 1940's and 1950's my friends and I had lots of Orange Brain Fun watching the Howdy-Doody Show, which was one of the earliest TV children's programs.

Lately, the weather in Chicago has reminded me of my favorite marionette character on the show named Princess Summerfall-Winterspring.

It was my Blue Creative Brain that connected our "every season weather" to a lovely childhood memory that made me smile!

Treat yourself, take a break from your tasks, and allow your Blue Brain Creativity to encourage a memory that makes you smile!

I have been smiling with new clients and opportunities to share my What Color Is Your Brain? Programs. If you want  get the crowd cheering and applauding at your next meeting or conference, contact me at sheila@sheilaglazov.com or 847.526.9039.
