Fresh Take on Tuscan
When recently hired to redesign our client's living room and dining room, her existing painting of the Tuscan countryside was used to guide our choice in creating the color palette of citrus orange, zesty yellow, coral red, and pale aqua. In the living room, the cool-colored steel gray sofas were warmed up with our use of bright and bold cheerful pillows we designed from Pindler and Pindler and Kravet fabrics. A custom ottoman artfully blends the mixture with a
handsome gray Ikat fabric lined in a tangerine contrast welt. Whimsical art pieces were selected to reflect the family's fun and casual lifestyle while creating the focal point for the room. The dining room became an extension of the family room by incorporating the same design aesthetic. Fresh colored geometric canvases hang above her traditional style buffet while beautifully tying in the Jonathan Adler striped fabric we used to reupholster her plain existing dining chairs. The oversized mirror was purchased from Restoration Hardware and boasts a frame made of salvaged boat wood; the perfect crowning element for a modern look that respectfully nods to its Tuscan past.
