Moroccan Modern

Our latest and greatest project in the McDowell Mountain Ranch area consisted of a redesign of a family room, kitchen, formal living and dining room for a family of five. The first area of focus was in the breakfast nook where a cozy place for the family to dine was desired. We achieved this by creating a custom banquette unit where the whole family can gather comfortably and stylishly. Next, vibrant paint colors such as Dunn Edwards Gingerbread House and Star City were specified for select walls to add a little drama to the serene white backdrop. A newly reupholstered sectional in rich golden linen is dressed up with the Moroccan style prints we chose for the sofa pillows. Earthy ceramics, shell clad objects, and hammered metals offer a textural quality throughout the accessories. This same feeling is carried through into the adjoining space of the formal living and dining room where an existing red wall is adorned in a new and ethereal looking mirror from Z Gallerie that beautifully reflects the room's new image. Ethnic inspired rugs were added to give the space visual and tactile warmth. Displayed objects look as though collected from all ends of the earth.  Fun ikats and animal prints complete the look. While wrapping up this project, our client shared with us how she used to find reasons to leave the house before hiring us. Now, she says, she just simply loves staying put.
