Youth News

Mystery Mission Trip is soon to be revealed! Thirteen youth and four adults will be leaving Sunday morning, July 7….for parts unknown!
Ok, well the leaders know where they are going and their parents know where the youth are going… Come Sunday morning and you may find out where we are going!  We will be travelling by vans and volunteering on service projects that involve education and justice.  Each youth will make their own breakfast and lunch each day before we go to our service site to volunteer. We will finish our week at Lifest in OshKosh, Wisconsin. Lifest is a day long, Christian concerts, speakers, and learning experience. Please pray for our youth and leaders, for safe travels and experiences that will grow and deepen their faith.

The Remains of Summer

July
Although we are barely into the month of July, most of our calendars are full of activities for the rest of the summer. Some events in July that I would like to highlight for you are the July 17th Summer Church Potluck. We will meet at 5:30 in Fellowship Hall.
There are also a couple of chances to serve in the month of July as well.
Saturday July 13th will be the last date this summer that St. Mark has signed up to be part of Habitat for Humanity.
Monday July 15th is an opportunity to be part of the GPS Mobil Food Pantry.
August
August will be the month to get ready for our fall activities. There is one more Summer Church Potluck being scheduled for the month of August and we will also celebrate the return of
Pr. Mark and Naomi from their sabbatical.
Confirmation
I would also like to take a portion of the front page of the MEMO to remind the confirmation students that hope to be part of Confirmation Sunday (October 27th), that they need to be completing their “Parent – Youth Interchange” questions. Those who hope to be Confirmed also need to hand in their confirmation verse to me before September 1st.
July is a great month for confirmands to get these items completed and off their summer “to-do” list.
To those who have youth that will be starting confirmation in the fall, Orientation/Registration dates are September 4th and September 11th.  Confirmation begins on September 18th.
Please take a moment to review the material that is found on the website. Simply click the “Confirmation 2013-2014” button on the front page of the St. Mark website. www.StMarkLC.com
Peace,
Pastor Scott
"From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.  So also, when you see all these things, you know that he  is near, at the very gates.;”
