March has arrived and even though we are expecting another half foot of snow tonight, spring is in the air! We finally have temps around freezing after weeks on end of below zero and single digits. This has been a real Maine winter. Fishing season is quickly approaching although our season does not really get going until early May at ice-out. We expect fantastic early season salmon on West Grand Lake as well as fly fishing on Grand Lake Stream from early May through June. Mid-May brings the smallmouth to the shores as the waters warm, south facing shores first.  Our peak spawn occurs the third week of May through late June depending on which lake you fish. Our shallower lakes come on first followed by the deeper, colder lakes - providing extended shallow water fishing for our top water bass enthusiasts.
