PleinAir magazine is proud to announce that noted artist Joe McGurl joins a strong list of judges for the 2014-2015 PleinAir Salon competition. McGurl's paintings draw top dollar at galleries, and his rare appearances at workshops and events are sought after by developing artists. Camp Hill Event Puts Cash Back Into Local Arts Scene
Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, located outside of Harrisburg, is the site of an annual plein air event that in the last three years has raised $364,000 that organizers have put right back into the local arts community. This event, the Plein Air Camp Hill Competition and Arts Festival, is interesting for its wide scope -- it hosts professional artists competing for a top prize of $2,000, and it organizes free workshops and activities for artists of all levels and ages. There's even a Quick Draw for the waist-high set. [read more]

Plein Air Event's $10,000 Prize
Plein Air -- Easton has long been considered by artists to be one of the top events of the year. This year it's also probably the richest. Organizers announced that the top prize at their 2014 event will be worth $10,000. [read more]
