The FiberScanONE™ (portable) and FiberScanFIX™ (machine-mounted) microwave moisture measurement instruments have proven to be effective tools for monitoring sheet and fabric water content, and for controlling water content when used in a vacuum box control loop. Sheet properties such as ply-bond on multiple former machines and sheet formation on tables with dandy rolls can be improved through controlling sheet consistency in the base sheet at the point that plies are combined or the dandy is applied to
the wire. Significant energy reductions can be obtained through vacuum strategies to decrease drag load (also thereby reducing forming fabric wear), and other cost savings can be obtained through the optimization of chemical dosages using the instruments to verify the efficacy of such dosages.

The Cristini PermFlowDuo™ offered in both portable or online versions had revolutionized press felt monitoring by incorporating not only porosity and moisture but also temperature into one unit. This unique technology allows for simultaneous permeability, moisture and temperature measurements thus recording all three measurements at exactly the same position on the press felts. This exclusive feature gives the user pinpoint accuracy for advanced troubleshooting. A full color 3D map of the entire felt is generated on the onboard screen which clearly illustrates the current felt condition. Plugged felts, wad burns or streaks can now be detected in less than 2 minutes with the PermFlowDuo™ . The sophisticated algorithm which powers the 3D mapping also helps gauge the performance of cleaning agents and conditioning equipment.

The origins of the Cristini Group date back to the middle of the 18th century, and are deeply rooted in the traditions of the Fiorano Al Serio valley. Since the Middle Ages, this area has been actively involved in the textile industry.
In 1997 the Cristini Group built a 55,000 ft² facility in Lachute, Qc. Canada in order to establish a presence in the North American market. This facility manufactures a full line of carrier rope and rope threading systems as well as spiral fabrics for paper machine dryer sections and filtration applications.
In early 2000, Cristini also launched its Diagnostic systems division which has become the industry's leading supplier of portable and online consistency gauges FiberScan™. The Diagnostic systems division has also launched online and portable press felt porosity and moisture measurements- PermFlowDuo™ making it the only instrument able to measure moisture porosity and temperature simultaneously.
